Huntsville’s forecast for Limestone County: 100,000+ homes, annexing another 21,000 acres
The first of more than 1,100 homes planned for the Greenbrier Preserve development in the Huntsville part of Limestone County are already under construction. To the development’s west off the Interstate 65-565 interchange, a 395-acre site once used for farming is expected to become the site of about 3,000 homes and other forms of housing in a mixed-use development to be known as Westmoore Landing.

Huntsville Planning Commission approves new development
The Huntsville Planning Commission voted to move forward with plans to expand residential and commercial development into Limestone County.It’s all part of a massive new development called Westmoore Landing. Nearly 400 acres of land were recently annexed by the city just off the interchange between I-65 and I-565 for the project.
New development similar to Village of Providence coming to Limestone County, bringing 3,000 new housing units
If you live in the Huntsville-metro area, you’re probably familiar with the I-65 and I-565 interchange. While this area may seem like a traffic jam during rush hour to some people, the developers of a new planned community say it’s the perfect location, which boasts convenience.
New Providence-style development approved by Huntsville Planning Commission
On Tuesday night, the Huntsville Planning Commission approved a proposed development on the newly annexed land near I-65 and Highway 20. Developers and city officials said they are excited about the project they plan on calling Westmore Landing. Officials say there may be some more hoops to jump through before building can start, but this was the biggest vote. The project is supposed to go on 400 acres of recently annexed land near I-65 and Highway 20.
